1. Drain pineapple; set aside syrup.
2. Add ingredients 2 through 7 to drained pineapple, gently stir until well mixed.
3. Fry at 365°F, dropping by tablespoon until golden brown, approximately 4 minutes.
4. Drain well on paper towels.
Optional Sauce
1. To pineapple syrup, add 1 cup of sugar and 1 tablespoon of flour.
2. Cook over medium heat until thick, stirring constantly.
